Bagasse Feeder
Detroit® Bagasse Triple Drum Feeder
The Detroit® Bagasse Triple Drum Feeder is the solution for supplying bagasse (also called cane refuse) to the spout at a closely controlled and uniform rate. This feed rate can be accurately adjusted and controlled through a wide range of operating loads when coordinated with several elements of the complete stoker-feeder system. The three-drum arrangement uses two similarly-sized drums to control the feed rate, while working in conjunction with a larger drum to separate and evenly disperse the material.
Detroit Stoker Company’s triple drum bagasse feeder is ideal for applications such as sugar mills where:
- Bagasse is the primary fuel source
- A secondary fuel such as wood or a similar refuse fuel is being used
Features and Benefits of the Detroit® Bagasse Feeder
Our bagasse feeder is designed for easy installation, long-lasting performance, and versatile operation:
- The Detroit® Bagasse Triple Drum Feeder is available in 30in [762mm] and 36in [915mm] widths.
- The design features gear reduction and roller chain drive, removing the need for belts, and a drive guard protects the sprockets and chains.
- A shear pin arrangement is bolted on the driven carding drum flat sprocket to protect the assembly from damage caused by overloading.
- Our bagasse triple drum feeder also features a rugged construction with heavy-duty components for long-term, reliable operation.
- The internal housing of the feeder features deflectors to protect the rotating shafts from becoming entangled with bagasse.
- Detroit Stoker Company offers upgrades where the drums will be exposed to excessive wear, constructing them from either stainless steel or other alloys depending on the specific application.
- The housing is fabricated in multiple sections, allowing for easy disassembly and maintenance.
- The Detroit® Bagasse Triple Drum Feeder is an excellent option for retrofit applications for old single-drum type feeders.
- The feeder is completely shop assembled for simplified installation.
- Operators can adjust the speed through boiler controls with a variable frequency drive.
