The Detroit® Underthrow Fuel Distributor is the ideal choice for spreader stokers burning coal containing a high quantity of fines and moisture.

The Detroit® Underthrow Fuel Distributor discharges the fuel on the underside of the rotor, enabling the blades to contact the coal for a longer period of time than other distributors. This design feature, in conjunction with the pneumatic distributor plate, facilitates a more horizontal trajectory of fuel, therefore distributing the fine particles more consistently onto the bed area.

The Detroit® Underthrow is primarily used for coal distribution in spreader stokers. It can be retrofitted to virtually any existing spreader stoker system, or used with fluid bed boilers, depending on the customer’s needs.

• The design of the Detroit® Underthrow Fuel Distributor features water-cooled rotor bearings, pivoting rotor blades to mitigate jams, and heavy-duty VFD driven motors to provide adjustment for varying fuel conditions.
• Our underthrow fuel distributor features an adjustable fuel gate to regulate coal feed into the rotor, ensuring a more consistent and even fuel distribution.
• The Detroit® Underthrow Fuel Distributor has fewer moving parts to maintain, reducing maintenance costs and downtime.
• The design features a chain-conveying carriage protected from direct radiant heat exposure.
• The internal parts of the Detroit® Underthrow Fuel Distributor are removable in two main assemblies.
• Most of these internal components can be replaced without removing the feeder from the stoker front plate, simplifying any maintenance or repairs.
